I love getting messages in my ask from people asking me questions about their journey. It’s so amazing to be able to help people and make a difference, even if it’s just the tiniest one.

The questions I can’t stand, however, is when people ask me “is my weight good?”

I don’t think people understand that your weight has so little to do with your health.

Here’s an image from Bamboo Core Fitness that will help you all understand what I’m about to explain:

Here’s an example of the messages I get regularly:

There is absolutely no way I can accurately answer this. As you can see from the image above, there is a slew of women who look like their weights vary greatly. Well, SURPRISE… each of the women weighs the exact same weight.

How is that possible?

Muscle is leaner than fat, which means that it takes up less space than fat. The outcome? The more muscle you have, the less you’ll look like you weigh.

So, there’s no way that I can tell if the girl who messaged me is 124.5 lbs on the far left of the picture’s body scale or on the far right.

If you want to know if you’re “good,” ask yourself these questions:

  1. Do I eat regular, clean, healthy meals?
  2. Do I exercise and break a sweat regularly?
  3. Am I mostly active during the day?

If you’ve answered “yes” to each of these questions, than you are “good,” and you’re probably on the right of the scale. However, if you’ve answered  ”no” to any of these, you’re probably on the far left.

Granted, there ARE exceptions. Some girls are naturally rounder, while some girls are sticks by nature.

The bottom line is, it doesn’t matter how you look or how much you weigh! It’s about being healthy and being happy.

Once you master those things, you’re far better than “good.”
